The Brief
Proactive work to help people realise the consequences a single plastic bag can have.
The Thinking
Create special builds to go in supermarkets. Instead of people thoughtlessly picking up a carrier bag from a dispenser, they will instead have to take one from the stomach of a marine animal via its mouth (a model, not a real one - we're not that sadistic).
Rather than print our own and add to the problem, we would attach notes onto reused, battered, old supermarket bags.
These would relay facts about
plastic pollution and their effect on marine wildlife.
An example of this would be:
'Over one million sea birds die each year. Mistaking plastic for food, it fills their stomach until they can no longer eat, they can only starve.'
